Name change for mail:
Click "options" (top right) on your mail page, click "general preferences". In "name and e-mail" you may change which name appears in the "from" field for mails you want to send. In "reply to" changes are also possible. Make sure you save your new settings. Note: you should sign out and back in again to make sure that the settings are working.

My yahoo email will not let me go to new mail to compose nor can I delete any of the messages what should I do
when I try to go to new message the computer doesn't do anything.At times when it does do something it says still loading.I can't delete any mail out of my in box.I'm still able to recieve mail but sometimes I have to minimize or maxamize the screen to do so.If someone knows the solution to this problem please tell me.

Reply:Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete comp[ose or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. There is no way to block other computers from logging into your account. The best thing you could do is to change your password if you think someone has stolen your password. Choose something that would be hard for other people to guess and change your password frequently for the best protection.

Mine does that sometimes do - all my email accounts do. I think it's just a glitch. Try clearing out your cookies or logging out and back in. Sometimes I just have to wait it out though.... good luck!

I am able to receive email but not send with the Thunderbird client. The help page says to use server "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" as the outgoing server, but this does not work. I added my Yahoo username but am repeatedly prompted for the password when trying to send.

I don't give my normal email address to anyone. I use my yahoo address for JUNK. This is the case with most everybody else, too. If you were a business, loan officer, bank manager with your own website, wouldn't you have your own address as well? Why would you NEED to create a yahoo address? I wouldn't trust it. I wouldnt' even read it. It's spam.

With the original yahoo version, I cannot find the contents of inward email, nor can I reply, compose or move an email to another file from the inbox. After switching to the new veta yahoo version, I managed to read the contents when outside messages kept popping up to cover the contents of the messages as I read it ! Same as happened in the original version, I failed to compose, reply and move an email, other than deleting them. I tried to follow Yahoo advice to remove the problem by clicking the Option at the top right hand corner (which is only available in the old Yahoo version), click the General Preference in Management Column, choose the Plain Text and scroll to the bottom to click "Save". Funny enough at this last stage, I failed after a series of clicks to "save" at the last step and all efforts were abortive. I further tried to "contact" Yahoo Customer Service as advised, yet this is not provided in the screen.

You can store them in the Sent bin, then when you want to send them out, open it and use Forward. When some have saved to the Draft, they found they mail has disappeared or is only half there.

With your present account, Yahoo will let you create one extra email address. Use it exactly like your primary address, and get messages sent to both addresses delivered to your primary address Inbox.

I think you can go where it says hi (your name) at the top of your inbox or whatever, and go to account info. There is a thing there that says email information. Click edit over on the right hand side and it should give you the option of which one you would like to make your primary. I hope this helps.

First Accounts are deactivated and removed after four months of no use.
When an account is deactivated, you won't be able to access it, regardless of whether or not email has been received in the account during that time.

I'm not sure why Y!360 would have anything to do with your Yahoo! Mail. Y!360 has its own mailbox. Y!360 automatically comes with your Yahoo ID, like other free Yahoo services. My ex put me on his spam list on his Blackberry (for his work e-mail) before we broke up and I didn't know it. I would e-mail him and couldn't figure out why he never responded. Duh!! He finally told me.

Reply:Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST last Wednesday. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.
I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since last Wed., and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.

First Accounts are deactivated and removed after four months of no use.
When an account is deactivated, you won't be able to access it, regardless of whether or not email has been received in the account during that time.

The second way you need to use a link. Make sure to read the link thoroughly. You are closing more than your e-mail account. Once you delete the account you will not be able to recover your account account. You will need to click the "Account Deletion" and then enter your password. The second way you need to use a link. Make sure to read the link thoroughly. You are closing more than your e-mail account. Once you delete the account you will not be able to recover your account account. You will need to click the "Account Deletion" and then enter your password. The Account Deletion page will come up and at the bottom you can close the account. Here is the link.

I am not sure of the exact problem, but you might be describing the "blank" email problem that many are having. If your email is blank and only shows the To/From/Subject info, then try these steps to see the text, again:

My ex put me on his spam list on his Blackberry (for his work e-mail) before we broke up and I didn't know it. I would e-mail him and couldn't figure out why he never responded. Duh!! He finally told me.

Responses to any form you build with SiteBuilder are currently delivered to the email address associated with your Yahoo! account (where you receive all Yahoo!-related communications). You can review this address anytime by clicking the "Account Info" or "My Account" link at the top of your screen after you sign in to Yahoo!.
To change this email address:
1. Visit Yahoo! Small Business at http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/services and, if you haven't already, sign in with your Yahoo! ID and password.
2. Click the "My Account" link at the top of the page.
3. To confirm your identity, enter your account password again.
4. On the Account Info page, click the "Edit" link next to "Member Information." On the next page you'll be able to edit the email addresses associated with your account.

Go to the following link, hit the "request" link. It will ask you to sign in or provide your password if you already are signed in and you're done. But if you do this, it cancels everything associated with that ID, including your answers account

It is done through Yahoo Messenger. Logon to Messenger, click Messenger from the menu, then Preferences, then click Alerts %26amp; Sounds, then click Enable alert sounds, select "I receive a message in Yahoo! Mail", then click Play a sound, select the sound file you like, then click OK. Make sure Messenger is running and you will get a sound alert when you receive an email :)

On your 360 set everything to 'private' or 'just me'
Type in fake ID and fake information
Remove your friends or send a good by message
Uncheck your URL box
Uncheck your communication boxes - you do not want to recieve no messages from there
After you set your Blogs and everything to 'private' or 'just me' Click on save and leave your page. It will be removed in time and when the new network comes anyways

Why don't you let Yahoo! do it for you? Go in to your inbox for your email on the computer and over to the right hand side you should see a hyperlink that says Mobile Mail, jsut click on that and a box will come up and ask for your country and then your mobile number and after filling them in click the button on the biottom that says "send link" and it will be sent to your phone. Very simple process
